I’m Yampier Medina. I ship the software that closes the last mile.

I’m a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Indianapolis. That means I don’t hand off specs from a distance — I work directly with the problem, build the software, deploy it, and stay until it delivers. My background spans software engineering, testing and SQA, and leading project teams of 20–50 people, so I’m comfortable owning a solution end to end.

On the software side I’ve built with React and Next.js for years: from CSS Grid experiments to production apps on AWS Amplify with GraphQL APIs, Cognito auth, and serverless functions, styled with Tailwind CSS and measured against real performance budgets.

What I care about most is the last mile. Every company carries a backlog of unglamorous problems — the manual report, the spreadsheet handoff, the process everyone hates — that never get budget because no single one looks important. That’s exactly where applied AI pays off: many small internal tools, each automating one tedious thing, compound into real productivity and a genuinely digitized operation.

I build them with discipline, not vibes: spec-driven development — requirements, design, and tasks agreed before code — executed with Kiro and Claude Code, connected to real tools through MCP, and gated by tests and code review. AI makes me faster; the engineering makes it dependable.
